Commissions

Commission a painting

Inquiries are open. Acceptance is at Payal's discretion, subject to her availability and creative interest.

Each commission is built over three to six months in the same multi-layer acrylic technique as Payal's other work, at the same scale and tempo.

Annual capacity

At most one commission per year.

The studio's pace is slow by design (three to six months per painting), and Payal reserves the rest of the year for her own body of work and gallery commitments.

How the process works

  1. Inquiry. You send a short note: what draws you to the work, what you imagine for the piece, a rough sense of size. (No prices or specifics yet.)
  2. Conversation. If the request resonates and Payal has capacity, she'll reply within a week to schedule a longer conversation by email or video.
  3. Letter of intent. If you both wish to proceed, she sends a written letter confirming subject, scale, timeline, and price.
  4. Deposit & build. A 50% deposit reserves the slot. The painting then begins, with periodic image updates over three to six months.
  5. Final payment & delivery. Final payment on completion. Insured shipping or in-person delivery as agreed.

What to expect

A note on acceptance: Payal accepts at most one commission per year, and the slot may already be allocated when you inquire. A reply confirming acceptance is not guaranteed, and she may decline requests that don't align with her current practice or her schedule. Inquiry is always welcome; there is no obligation on either side until the letter of intent.
